Email Design

Home > Web & Digital > Email Design

Email is the most underestimated brand touchpoint. It lands directly in someone’s inbox — no algorithm, no feed, no competition for attention. Getting it right means more than making it look good. It means making it work on every device, every client, every time. These emails did all of that.

Client

Ultimate Software · AdMobilize · UKG

Approach

From hand-coded responsive templates tested in Litmus, to a full company-wide Drupal email rebrand — every project balanced technical precision with on-brand design.

Tools

HTML · CSS · Litmus · Adobe XD · Photoshop · CC Libraries

Impact

For Ultimate Software, event invitation templates drove a 20% increase in registration rates. UKG Drupal rebrand consolidated 8 email templates into 4 — delivered on time without touching the core code structure.

[01] READING THE ROOM

The UKG Drupal rebrand was a different kind of challenge. Eight company-wide email templates needed to reflect the new brand — fast, and without breaking the code that the entire company’s email infrastructure depended on.

[02]  BUILDING THE FIX

I started by building wireframes of the existing templates, mapping exactly what needed to change and what had to stay untouched. My deep HTML knowledge meant the redesign was surgical — minimal code alterations, maximum visual impact. We went from 8 templates to 4, streamlined and on-brand, with room for campaign creativity built in. The developers delivered on time. Not a single deadline was missed.

The rebrand also rolled out as CC Library items — giving designers across campaigns instant access to on-brand components, ensuring consistency without micromanagement. This was a team effort with another designer and the web team.

[03] SHIPPED. LOVED. DONE.
An entire company sending personalized, on-brand emails to prospects and clients — with enough flexibility for creativity, and enough structure to keep everybody consistent. The developers were happy. The stakeholders were happy.
