No code. No developer. No problem. Ceros is an interactive content platform that lets designers build fully functioning web experiences — animations, scrolling effects, embedded media, clickable content — without writing a single line of code. These experiences were embedded directly into the company site, and every time stakeholders saw a preview, the reaction was the same: “Wait — you built that?”
[01] READING THE ROOM
First, the unglamorous part — servers, domains, WordPress installations, plugin conflicts at midnight, and the occasional hosting provider that tests your patience. Not the stuff that makes it into the portfolio. But without it, nothing else works.
Then the fun part. Translating a client’s vision into something that actually makes sense on a screen. Wireframes that got scribbled on, revised, scribbled on again. Design decisions debated over video calls. Color palettes that took three rounds to get right. You know how it goes.
And finally — the part that actually matters. Handing it off. Not just the files, but the knowledge. Every client got a training session so they could own their site, update their content, and never have to call me because they accidentally deleted their homepage. (It happens. More than you’d think.)
[02] BUILDING THE FIX
Each experience started with a clear purpose and ended with something that felt nothing like a typical corporate webpage. Stories with Purpose was a BEI initiative — a rich, scrollable experience showcasing fundraisers, volunteering opportunities, scholarship programs, and employee family support initiatives. The project kicked off with no written content and no clear stakeholder. What came out the other side was a robust, beautifully designed experience that drew over 4,000 visitors.
The UKG Product Testimonial page brought customer stories to life in an interactive format — engaging, on-brand, and easy to navigate. The Interactive Workforce Activity Report took an existing monthly report and transformed it into a live, clickable experience — built specifically as a demonstration tool for the webinar presenting the report. Same data. Completely different experience.
The Release Updates experience was a living, breathing document — updated every quarter to keep internal teams and stakeholders informed on the latest product releases. Built in Ceros for easy editing, it replaced what would have otherwise been a static PDF nobody bookmarked and everyone lost.
[03] SHIPPED. LOVED. DONE.
Ceros was already on the radar — some stakeholders had seen it and knew what it could do. The challenge was proving it could do it well, on brand, and on deadline. Every time a preview went out, the reaction confirmed it. These weren’t just deliverables. They were proof that the right tool in the right hands changes what’s possible — with or without writing a single line of code.
